►OOAK banjara coin necklace from Rajasthan (India). It 's made with 70's indian rupee coins and metal tube beads. The Banjara are tribal people living in Rajasthan and Gujarat. These sort of necklace are a reminiscence of the time when the coins where high grade silver (before 1939) and women used to wear all the wealth on them in silver and gold jewellery.
The Banjara women have a colorful and distinct style of dressing that sets them apart from other tribal groups of India. They are elaborately embroidered with colorful threads and little mirrors.
