You travelled for 43 hours on the train, traversing so many regions, landscapes and time zones, just so that you could meet me finally ‘in person’, take me to that floating café on the Brahmaputra and then take a walk down the aisles of books in those crooked lanes of Pan Bazaar in the early hours of the setting sun.

And while I spoke to you about my life, the bitterness in the truths about my past and my taste in the oddest dishes available, I saw a patiently smiling you across me, waiting for my banter to get over just so that you could tell me, how those 43 hours of travel were worth every bit of the moment you saw me clad in my purple boujee saree.

Just so you know and (never) find this scantily written note on this tissue paper, I have always been fond of you, right when I saw you, a year ago, at that bus stop.
