Antique prayer rugs occupy a unique position in the rug weaving continuum due to their age-old value. The “MIHRAB” design is intended as a replica of the “QIBLA” an archway in the wall of every mosque that denotes the direction of Mecca, indicating where each practitioner must be oriented towards when they begin Prayer.
• The rug was handwoven by Indian village artisans and is famous for its weaving techniques and colors. Each one-piece is an artwork and tells a story through its designs and colors.
• Due to the nature of handmade vintage rugs, there might be slightly faded colors or worn areas, or minor imperfections adding special unique character to the rug. These things make them more beautiful and more art deco.
• Rare museum piece; truly one of a kind; collector’s edition.
• All these rugs are dry cleaned by the professionals before dispatching and are ready to use.
