DESCRIPTION:
The saree has woven Kingkhap motif in the pallu and Gos(tree) buta motif woven in the border. Kingkhap motif, one of the most popular design of Assamese weave has arrived in Assam from Ahom dynasty. It is represented by two lions facing each other that depicted the courage,bravery and royalty of the earstwhile Ahom kingdom. The border is woven with Gos buta which is inspired from the rich flora of the region, is represented as two birds facing each other in a tree. The body of the saree has phool(flower) butas woven in the entire body.
