1.9*2.3 Feet Antique Wall Hanging Silk Brocade, 20th Century Banarasi Panel #1339

This piece dates to the early 20th century from Banaras. The real silver thread has been used in this antique rich silk textile.

Brocade is a class of richly “Woven Fabric”. The word comes from the Italian “Broccato” meaning “embossed cloth”. The purpose of this is to give the appearance that the weave was actually embroidered on.

This is one of the very rare and unique pieces in our textile collection from Banaras.
